Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ScrapePass handles personal information when you use our website, browser extension, and related services. Your use of ScrapePass is also governed by our Terms of Service.

1. Information extracted from websites

Local extraction takes place in your browser. The pages you extract, datasets, recipes, and exports are not uploaded to our servers as part of local extraction.

Your browser communicates with the websites you visit and the sources from which you download images. Those websites handle requests according to their own practices and privacy policies.

Cloud Runs are not currently available. We will explain any additional server processing and update this policy before introducing features that handle extracted data in the cloud.

2. Account information

When you create or use an account, we process information needed to operate it, including:

  • Your email address and optional name.
  • A password hash if you use an email and password to sign in.
  • A Google account identifier, along with the email address and name from your Google profile, if you choose Google sign-in.
  • Email verification and account status.
  • Free-day balances, credit balances, expiration dates, and pass history.
  • Referral records and rewards, including the website or app a referral link was shared on, when it can be detected. We also count how often your referral link is opened, by source; these counts include no information about the people who open it.
  • Records of extensions connected to your account, including the browser type and when each extension was connected and last used.

For sign-in sessions, email verification and password reset links, and connected extension tokens, we store a hash rather than the original token.

3. Purchases and payments

Paddle processes payments as the merchant of record. Payment information entered at checkout is handled by Paddle under its own privacy policy.

When you start a checkout, we share your account email address and an account identifier with Paddle so the purchase can be linked to your account. We receive purchase information needed to provide credits, maintain transaction records, and assist with purchase questions. This includes the transaction identifier, the credit pack purchased, the total amount, and the currency.

4. Support and early access

If you contact us, we process the information you include in your message so we can respond and investigate your request.

If you sign up for early access, we use the email address you provide to contact you about the feature or plan you requested.

Avoid sending passwords, payment credentials, or extracted datasets unless they are necessary for your request and we have explained how to share them appropriately.

5. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Create and maintain accounts.
  • Verify email addresses and provide sign-in.
  • Connect and manage authorized extensions.
  • Activate passes and track credits and free days.
  • Process purchases and administer referral rewards.
  • Send account, security, and transaction messages.
  • Respond to support requests and early access inquiries.
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
  • Meet applicable legal and recordkeeping obligations.

6. Service providers and disclosures

We use providers for payments, transactional email, hosting, database services, and optional Google sign-in. These providers receive information needed to perform their functions.

We may disclose information where required by law or where reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate fraud, or protect the security and legal rights of the service.

If the business is acquired or reorganized, account information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate notice.

7. Browser storage, cookies, and technical information

The extension uses browser storage to save local settings, recipes, datasets, and related information.

The website uses cookies or similar storage needed to support account sessions and security. If you open a referral link, the website also stores the referral code and the website or app the link was shared on in cookies for up to 30 days, so the referral can be credited when you sign up. Your browser settings may allow you to remove or restrict this storage, although doing so may affect sign-in or other features.

When you use the website or the extension’s account features, our servers receive standard request information, such as your IP address and browser type. We use IP addresses temporarily to limit excessive requests, and our servers may log errors to diagnose problems.

Clearing browser storage or removing the extension may remove locally stored information. Export any data you want to keep first.

8. Retention

We retain account information while it is needed to provide the service. We may retain certain purchase, security, and support records after an account is closed where necessary for legal obligations, fraud prevention, accounting, or resolving disputes.

Locally stored data remains under your control through the extension, your browser, and your device.

9. Your choices and requests

You can disconnect an extension from your account by signing out in the extension, which revokes its access. You can also contact us to revoke access for any connected extension.

You can contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information. Available rights and exceptions depend on applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Deleting an account does not automatically delete exported files or local browser data. You can remove those through your device or browser.

10. Security

We use safeguards intended to protect personal information. No storage system or transmission method is completely secure.

Keep your account credentials secure and revoke access for extensions or devices you no longer use.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when our practices change. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice where required or appropriate.

For privacy questions or requests concerning your information, use the support contact listed on our website.
